Green PEA Support The Expo – The Big Green Event at Joint Networking Breakfast
Green PEA co-hosted a networking breakfast in support of energy management and carbon reduction in our region, with the Expo – The Big Green Event 2016. The chosen venue was the Lake Yard Club in Poole, overlooking Poole Harbour and providing the perfect backdrop to enjoy a breakfast and networking with business colleagues. Attending organisations included Brittany Ferries, Bournemouth Council, Organix, Air-Site Limited, Green Business Dorset, The Ark and The Kitchen Restaurant to name a few.
Borough of Poole Carbon Reduction Manager, and Chairman of Green PEA – Paul Cooling attended with a visiting delegate from Switzerland to showcase the great work that is being carried out in Poole. Following breakfast, Paul also introduced the scheme to attendees with a view to attracting new members for the scheme to support.
Following Paul’s presentation, the breakfast group moved into interactive mode as the group was invited to head out into the sunshine, as Gwyn Jones, Director Association of Sustainability Practitioners invited the group to discuss ways in which they could play their part in The Big Green Event – and in supporting carbon reduction in their county.
The Breakfast then concluded with a presentation from Aimee Cole of B Corp. B Corp is described as being what the Fair Trade certification is to coffee. They are a non-profit B Lab designed to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
Green PEA Directors in attendance were Simon Harrison from the Collective Marketing Agency, Jon Cullum of GreenWing UK, Anita Potten of Star Consultants UK and Lynda Daniels of Green Business Dorset.
