The Kitchen and sister family attraction, The ArkĀ in Poole Park, have been advancing through the Poole Green PEA scheme since February 2015. Following significant investment, the family-owned business has installed an extensive solar panel project as part of an on-going environmental strategy.

The project has so far produced a carbon reduction saving of:

The Ark: 3.34tonnes equivalent of 117 trees

The Kitchen: 1.68tonnes equivalent of 43 trees

Richard de Lisle, Owner, said: “We are committed to enhancing our ‘green’ credentials and reducing our impact on the environment, we’re delighted to be able to harness the power of renewable technologies to achieve a more sustainable business operation. Nestled amongst the beautiful surroundings of Poole Park, it seems only fitting that our business adopts a sympathetic environmental approach; offering first-class family entertainment and dining that doesn’t cost the earth”.

Both sites currently operate a scaled-back waste pick-up initiative to reduce transport emissions and are looking to install LED lighting throughout, later this year.
